Tottenham, or Spurs, as the team is also known, was formed in the 1880s and was named after Shakespeare's character Harry Hotspur. Today, the club is an institution in the English league, with the motto Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
In 2018, Tottenham moved into its brand new home stadium: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which replaced the club's previous home: White Hart Lane. The new stadium has a capacity of about 62,000 spectators – making it the largest club stadium in London.
Tottenham Hotspur has experienced periods of remarkable success, including two English top-flight league titles in 1951 and 1961, as well as a host of domestic cup triumphs. The club also holds the distinction of being the first British team to win a major European trophy, lifting the UEFA Cup in 1963.
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club continues to be a powerhouse in English football, combining a glorious past with a promising future. As the Lilywhites strive for success on both domestic and international fronts, their legacy remains firmly entrenched in the annals of football history.
